G-d tells Abraham to "go for yourself" -- this journey will be for Abraham's benefit and even pleasure. The mission that the soul is given to descend into this world is for its own benefit. Only in this world, with all its challenges, will the soul be shown its highest self -- the land where I will show and reveal the greatest "you."
